After these discussions with her Master, Shoaneb had a renewed sense of faith in herself, and although she still didn't progress as fast as some of the other students, she stopped agonizing over her slow progression, and just did her best to accomplish her goals. With this new attitude, Shoaneb developed her place in the Force and eventually attained the rank of Jedi Knight. Eventually, the Force called on Shoaneb when a task force was called for to answer to the growing evil on the planet of Onderon. Volunteering for the task force, Shoaneb was pulled aside by her Master, Vodo.

Vodo feared that Shoaneb still had doubts within herself pertaining to her abilities and feared she might be volunteering as a way to prove something. However, Shoaneb's words and her calm composure put to rest any fears Vodo had as to her abilities or her motives. Shoaneb was chosen to be a part of the force along with Jedi Knights Kith Kark, Dace Diath, Qrrl Toq, and Nomi Sunrider. Soon after the task force was chosen, the quintet left for Onderon. Shoaneb and the Jedi landed on Onderon just as the Dark Side Naddist launched an attack on the original Jedi force already on planet, Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, Tott Doneeta, and Oss Wilum.

Allied with the beastriders led by Modon Kira, the two Jedi forces responded with force and met in the middle of the battlefield. Despite her inability to see, Shoaneb's aptitude in the Force allowed her to dispatch many Freedon Nadd fanatics during the battle. After the battle, Shoaneb and the Jedi launched an attack on the citadel of the Dark Side ruler of Onderon, King Ommin, to rescue Jedi Master Arca Jeth, whom Ommin had imprisoned with Dark Side energy within his secret chambers inside the citadel. Breaking into Ommin's secret chambers, Shoaneb and the Jedi were able to defeat him and rescue Arca from his Dark Side prison. After the Freedon Nadd Uprising had been dealt with, Shoaneb and the Jedi took up the task of sealing Freedon Nadd's remains inside a tomb on Onderon's Dxun moon.

Remaining on Onderon a little while longer to help rebuild the city, damaged by the recent conflict, Shoaneb and the Jedi also learned to ride the planet's great warbeasts. During one such session of riding warbeasts, Jedi Master Arca Jeth called a meeting of the Jedi, and he explained that a political coup in the Empress Teta System was somehow connected to the recent Freedon Nadd Uprising and showed signs of the use of Sith magic. Splitting the Jedi into three groups, Arca assigned Shoaneb to the group assigned with the task of traveling to Ossus along with Jedi Knights Dace Diath, Qrrl Toq, and Oss Wilum to inform the Jedi Masters there of the recent events of the Freedon Nadd Uprising.
